Leadership Conference - Bangkok from 6th to 8th Nov 2006

Hello Everyone!!
I'm Jie Hui!! Haa.. Suppose to have blogged this a long time ago but was waiting for someone to send me the photos 1st.. yupx.. Finally received it today.

We reached there one day early to shop. Hate shopping. Its more tiring then the actual conference.

The Conference was on A Dominion Church which basically talks about how we influence people from on top and bring God closer to the world. If anyone is interested about this topic, dun look for me but stay in church long enough for them to go through this series one day k? hahaz... jst kidding...

LC is really more about the teachings. I mean it is great. But the really great idea about LC is to be able to live, eat, learn, share with all the Leaders and pastors from all around the world. Me, dk, Dewen and bk had the privilege of playing soccer with Pastor PN and pastors from all over the world. These pastors who lead thousands and thousands of people do not float, windwalk or blink when they play soccer!! They run!! Haa... just shows that they are really very simple people doing extraordinary things for God. It was a great experience to play soccer with them.

I had the opportunity to eat breakfast with pastor yong yud, a 29 year old pastor from bangkok. He is quite good looking with a very pretty wife. Ha.. God blesses and favors those who serve him! Also had meals with pastor golf, Pastor Joshua who shared with me how God opened doors for him to go to India to plant a church there next year. I'm deeply humbled and encouraged by all their stories. Talking about India, there was this brother Earnest who shared a testimony during LC about how he leads 1000 churches, 5000 orphans in his orphanages, owns TV stations and radio stations for God in India. A lot of the orphans actually become pastors and servants of God when they grow up. The scale or multitude of this brother's work bears testimony that the church is indeed growing from glory to glory.

A little about the Hope Church planting movement now. Next year, we're planting our first seed church in the Middle East. It'll be the key to winning the continent for Jesus. Hope church Singapore is currently active in South America, North America and South Africa. We have three seed churches in South America namely Peru, Chile and Ecuador!! Do pray for them!! Our mother chruch is doing great things in thailand as well. Recently one of our hope bangkok pastors passed away and because he was quite influential and impacted the community, alot of high level officials including the princess of thailand, the advisors to the king, and many army generals attended the funeral service in which Pastor PN preached to all these people about God. In another event, a special speaker Rev Jacobs prophersized that we are going to have our own Hope Bank!! and people from all over the world is going to study its model!!

The idea of leaders from all over the world coming together to worship God, learn from the Word of God, live and eat together and relax together is simply amazing. I've learned so much, seen so much and felt so much... Simply amazing! See it for youselves ya?!?

I came back refreshed and with a new mandate from God about the NS Ministry. Let's go all out for 1000!!!

Games Review

Citadel
This is probably one of the most interesting and enjoyable game of the lot. Ranging from 2 to 8 players, it is equally fun no matter how many people are in the game. Personally I prefer more players, but a game of 2 players is extremely fun and challenging as well. The aim of the game is to build 8 districts in your city. Once 8 districts have been completed, the game ends and points are counted.

At the beginning of each round, everyone secretly chooses a character in a clockwise manner. This character has special abilities that can be activated during your turn. Once everyone has selected a card, the round starts from the assassin and the race to build 8 districts begins.

This is a game of strategy and persuasion. Every round is different as you get to choose another character. Collect gold as a merchant, or get more cards as an architect, or even switch hands as a magician, but dodge the thief and the assassin or else your turn will be futile. There is just so many ways of playing this game and the element of mystery of who is who just makes the game even more exciting. A problem is that first timers usually take a long time to choose the character they want. Solution: Have the top 3 characters you want in your head, so when the cards come to you, you can choose immediately without cracking your head.

I highly recommend this game at caregroup level and from what I have seen, both guys and girls love this game.
